Skincare Routine for Teenagers | Skin Solution 1O1

Proper skincare is needed to sustain overall health and a feeling of well-being, and it’s essential for teenagers. This stage highlights rapid changes in both physical and hormonal appearance, which greatly affect one’s skin tone. Teenager’s skincare is not only about appearance, it’s an important part of their self-care and overall wellness. Early adoption of proper and effective skincare practices can result in a lifetime of radiant, healthy skin and positive self-confidence.

Morning Routine:-

Cleanser- Start your day by washing your face with a gentle cleanser. Look for a cleanser that is suitable for your skin type (dry, oily, combination, or sensitive). If you have oily or acne-prone skin, look for oil-free, non-comedogenic, or non-acnegenic face wash. Hypoallergenic certified face wash for sensitive skin. For dry to combination skin individuals look for cream base cleanser.

Toner- Toner is optional, except for oily skin. If your skin needs it, use a mild, alcohol-free toner. Toners help balance the skin’s pH and remove leftover dirt or oil.

Moisturizer- Apply a lightweight, oil-free, non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores), hypoallergenic moisturizer. Even if you have oily skin, it’s important to keep it hydrated.

Sunscreen- Apply a broad-spectrum certified, mineral sunscreen, with SPF 50 every day in the morning as the last step of your morning skincare routine. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours.

Night Routine:-

Double Cleansing- Here we come, double cleansing is very important to any skincare routine. It will remove excess sebum and all the dirt, and polluted substances that are trapped with sweat, and sunscreen throughout the day.  Also, it will be beneficial for those who wear makeup, mascara, or eyeliner. Start by using a gentle makeup remover or micellar water to clean your face. Then opt for a cleansing oil. Gently massage for 60 seconds and rinse off.

Cleanser- Cleanse your face again with a gentle cleanser that is used in the morning.

Treatment- If you have specific skin concerns like acne, apply a targeted treatment (e.g., 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, and 2% salicylic acid) after cleansing.

Moisturizer- Apply a non-comedogenic, oil-free moisturizer again to keep your skin hydrated.

Weekly:-

Cleanser- Clean your face with your cleanser.

Face Mask- Use a face mask based on your skin’s needs. Clay masks can help with oiliness while hydrating masks are great for dry skin. Keep for 10 minutes and rinse off. Do not apply on the eye area (eyelids & under eye).

Moisturizer- After removing the face mask apply moisturizer.
