Difference Between Vegan and Cruelty-Free

Vegan

Vegan skincare refers to skincare products that are formulated without any animal extract ingredients or by-products. These products are created using plant-based and synthetic ingredients to provide a range of benefits for the skin. Vegan skincare focuses on harnessing the power of nature by utilizing botanical ingredients, essential oils, fruit and vegetable extracts, and various other plant-based ingredients to nourish and improve the skin’s health. Vegan skincare products are free from commonly used animal-derived substances like beeswax, lanolin, collagen, and carmine. Instead, they provide alternatives sourced from plants, such as shea butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, and plant-based retinol, vitamin C, and hyaluronic acid. These products are suitable for people who follow a vegan lifestyle, have ethical concerns about animal exploitation, or prefer using products with natural, plant-based ingredients.

Cruelty-free

Cruelty-free skincare refers to skincare products that are developed without any participation in animal testing. These products are not tested on animals at any stage of their production, including the ingredients and the final product. Cruelty-free skincare brands emphasize ethical practices by deploying alternative testing systems, such as in vitro testing and human clinical trials. They make every effort to ensure the safety and efficacy of their products without putting through animals unnecessary harm or suffering.
